| ONE BLOG TO RULE THEM ALL |
[15 Aug 2009|05:20pm] |
I'll be using the new blog I set up on my main site from now on, for both art/work and some personal related postings.
Of course I will keep my LJ around so I can stalk other people.

| Eva-boken kommer ut snart! |
[07 Jul 2009|03:34pm] |

V^(oo)^V

| The new site for Driftwood has officially been launched! |
[18 Jun 2009|06:25pm] |
The new Driftwood site is now ready. (I.e. I finally did the last minor tweaks and updated all the links on my main site.) Visit it here! I shall pick up drawing Driftwood again in the quite near future, before the summer is over. By the way, this August marks the 13th birthday of Driftwood as a comic. Whee! V^(oo)^V

| Happy International Workers' Day! |
[01 May 2009|07:54pm] |
I wanted to draw something with more "fighting spirit", but then Ilan complained about "clutter" on my desk while I was doing some research for the drawing, so I used up all my fighting spirit when I got angry at him. (Bargh, such petty-bourgeois behaviour.) I wish I had my own studio.
Anyways, here is something. The drawing style is "Advanced MS Paint". :oD

| Various news! |
[20 Apr 2009|10:57pm] |
First:
I will be at SPX09 in Stockholm this weekend on Saturday and Sunday. The new comic book I've finished just in time for this is another solo zine with Eva:

Eva is assaulted by some weird dudes on the street, and it turns out they belong to some bizarre political movement and want her to join their cause. WTF? Also featured is a Q&A section and some pictures of a hot half-naked guy and lovely flowery 70's wallpapers. You can preview the comic, i.e. read the whole thing, in Swedish on the Eva blog. Whee!
Of course I will also be selling my entire backlist of fanzines.
Second:
I heard that I have been mentioned in the book Sexy Witch by LaSara Firefox. It seems like a fun and slightly silly book. :o) It's some sort of neo-pagan/feminist self-help book for women who want to become more comfortable with their body and sexuality. In one section the author suggests ways for becoming more comfortable with your menstruation, and includes a list of inspirational websites with menstrual paintings, among them mine. Whee!
Third, slightly related to that, since it has my blood in it:
The experimental novel Musée Téléguidée, the graphic design of which I had been working on for a long time, just arrived from the printer's. I haven't seen it yet, but my associate said it looks really great. Yay!

| The buttons are here! |
[18 Mar 2009|04:00pm] |

The square ones are 38 mm, and the round one is 32 mm. The corners of the square ones are a bit sharp, but that's about the ony complaint I have. I guess you can tell that I don't care much for overly simple button designs.
( Here they are ... )

| February 11th |
[12 Feb 2009|12:48am] |
Okay, it's already February 12th, but the 11th was Willie's birthday. Yes, I calculated what are the exact birthdays of the main characters in Driftwood. Besides Western horoscope signs, which I had already decided upon many years ago, this slightly obscure German Celtic tree horoscope thingy was also useful in determining the exact dates. There are lots of different Celtic tree horoscope thingies with slightly different trees, but Ainur just happened to send me this link, so I went along with it. That particular Celtic horoscope thingy only mentions the "secondary" trees, so to learn about both "primary" and "secondary" tree horoscopes, I also checked out this page.
Anyway, since yesterday happened to be Willie's birthday, it made me want to make drawings of the people in question on their birthdays.
Willie, February 11th, rowan and hackberry tree.

Some other tree horoscopes list the tree of this date as cedar, but hackberry is more fun. Rowans always remind me of my first dog (who is buried under one) and Doctor Zhivago. The rowan is one of the hardiest European trees, occurring up to 71° north in Vardø ('Wolf Island') in arctic Norway. Hackberry belongs to the Cannabaceae family, and possesses the most bending tolerance of all species of wood!
I haven't worked in colour for ages, so this was kind of hard. At first I caught myself using all kinds of shockingly bright colours, but then I was able to get a grip on myself. I'd like to make some sort of nice frame around it, too, but I have to sleep soon so I don't wake up too late tomorrow ...
Coming up: Eva, March 21st Samona, April 30th Erlik, July 24th Seraphine, September 14th Bijou, October 11th Kim, November 9th Shannon, November 22nd Aeron, December 26th
Ting Yay's birthday is on September 23rd, but I don't think I'll include him because he belongs solely to the parallel "Eva" universe.
